Jean Wemaëre - Chairman and CEO of the DEMOS Group

Jean Wemaëre, Chairman and CEO of the DEMOS Group, founding DEMOS in 1972 at the age of 26.
He has turned it into a leading company in the business skills sector.
The DEMOS Group now works with over 30,000 companies and 5,000 experts at 17 international sites, most notably in the United Kingdom, United States, China, Germany, Spain and the Middle East. These companies range from large groups to SME.

Before creating Demos, Jean Wemaëre, a graduate of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and Institut d’Etudes Supérieures de Sciences économiques was an economic advisor to the Université de Paris II and a parliamentary secretary.
His professional work has led him to participate in varied research as a representative of training companies.
He chairs the Fédération de la Formation Professionnelle and is a director of the Office Professionnel de Qualification des Organismes de Formation et de Conseil.
He is also vice-chairman of the SYNTEC federation and the Commission de l’Innovation et des Actifs Immatériels, which he created within the Groupement des Professions de Services, of which he is also co-founder.
He is a member of MEDEF’s Economic Committee.

In addition to his blog, which allows him to share his thoughts on operational experience and training, Jean Wemaëre has written two books:

  • Les 100 mots de la formation, 2007, Que sais-je
  • La Création de valeur par le savoir opérationnel, in collaboration with Didier Naud

He has also taken part in interviews with Arnaud Brunet, collated in “Ecole – vers le déclin?”
Interviews with business leaders.

For his lifetime work he was awarded the French Legion of Honour, rank of officer.
An opera lover, he regularly attends performances.
